Moscow band which performs rather original darkwave (with the influence
of 60's retro and space age music), using a lot of analogue effects. The
band's constant line-up consists of two members - Yura Zviozdny (vocals,
programming, keyboards, lyrics) and Andrey Pankratov (drums). The band
uses different female vocalists who are temporary band members. The
present female vocalist of Dikhanie is Nastya N. The band released two
demos (in 1996 and 1998) and now it finishes the recording of the new
material.

DIKHANIE (THE BREATH) "Logoreja" - 1998
Dikhanie is a cult legendary band of Moscow gothic scene, on one hand
due to charismatic personality of the band's leader - Dmitry Borisov,
and on the other hand due to the fact that many of famous Moscow goths
managed to play in this band for such a short period of time. To say
that one of the incentives to record the given demo was the triumphant
performance of Dikhanie at darkwave party in "Reactor" club won't be a
mere allegation. Unfortunately, right after the recording of this demo,
the female guitar player Alia, who had been the character of the band
for a long time, left Dikhanie and due to this sad fact the band's sound
will surely change. The whole material of the demo can be characterized
as post-punk darkwave. The guitar parts bear the post punk echoes
(having the gothic-rock sound from time to time) and Dima Borisov's
vocals are closer to post punk. On the other hand the electronic part of
the sound is closer to darkwave. Though such characteristic is rather
general, all the compositions are individual enough and also there are
many other influences - from classical music and pop music of 60's to
electronic minimalism and dark ambient. The distinctive feature of the
album is the application of soviet analogue synthesizers - their
tinkling, primitive and naive sound immediately draws the listener's
attention, but I'm afraid many people might not like such sound. The
overall mood is rather dark, that is actually no wonder in case of such
explosive mixture like post-punk and darkwave.
